On Symbols

I feel now is the perfect time to give a lesson on what is known as symbolism.
Symbolism is allowing one thing to stand for another, e.g. a crucifix for the Christian faith, a handshake for an agreement, language for thoughts, et al.
The reason for this mild lecture is a comment from the (now certifiably batshit insane) Danielle, saying that the (X) is a dead symbol.
Let me tell you all the various ways that is wrong.
1. No matter how hard anyone tries, they cannot kill a symbol. So long as it has significance to one person, the symbol is still alive.
2. The (X) is a variable symbol. For some, it is a protective ward. For others, its mere presence brings problems. Even though it was likely originally luck that determined what it meant to each of them, it now is associated with those things for the respective people. They know it to be a symbol. It's a symbol for thousands of different things, Danielle. And those are the hardest symbols to vanquish.
3. The (X) is dead to Him. So what? He's not human. He has no concept of symbolism. The only thing human about Him is curiosity. And that's why He's keeping you around, Danielle. That's what His agents are to Him. They are proof of His curiosity. He wonders why you fools would willingly follow something that just wants to take everything apart, all of you included. He's testing to see how far He can push a human before we break. And guess what, Danielle? You broke. He has no need for you anymore.

I'm going to stop writing now. Headache. Until next time, this is Steve, logging off.

  1. Ignorance is bliss for you, hmm? I see.

  2. Also, on another less important note, how did I break? Are you confusing power with insanity? Prophecy with ramblings? Maybe you should delve a little deeper into the rabbit hole, because as of now, you have barely scratched the surface.

  3. You seem to be misinterpreting what I'm saying. I'm not the ignorant one in this situation. A symbol holds power on an individual level. It is only once you believe that a symbol holds no power that it begins to lose any strength it had.
As for your self-declared "prophecy", I've been fighting gods with mere words for the past five years. Gods with stronger grasps on the minds of man than the murderous fuck you decided to worship. I've even managed to free several humans from their grasping hands. What your "god" does with brute force, I can do with mere words.
Come back when you can fight gods, instead of just cowering at the feet of anything with power. Right now, you don't know the meaning of the word.
You were a fighter once, Dani. No matter how hard you try to cover up your past, you'll never get rid of it.

  4. So, you seem to think it is your own words that has been keeping you alive? No. It was his choice to keep you alive. There are some he takes a particular interest in. Some he thinks should be preserved, long enough to gain attention and then serve as a warning to others when they fall.

Self declared? Hardly. Prophecy? No. I'm saying, that the time for you to fall ans serve as another warning sign in coming, and coming quickly.

The Sheik never allows for the ones on his list to live long. You should know that better than anyone.
